As you know, Timeline Genius lets you collaborate on your events in an unprecedented way. You can invite your clients, vendors, and venues to access timelines online, and you can control their access rights on an item-by-item basis.

Well now, you have even more flexibility when you’re collaborating because you can edit and delete your comments to timeline items.

NEW FEATURE: Customize Headers for Non-Wedding Timelines and Other Needs

When you’re creating your timelines, we know how important it is for you to be able to customize the content and style to your own personal liking.

With this in mind, we just rolled out a new feature that will let you edit the headers for the various sections of your timelines.

For example, if you’re doing a timeline for a corporate event or for a bar mitvah, you can change the “Wedding Party Contacts” header to say, “Event Guests”.

New Feature: Import and Export Your Contacts

Hello Timeline Geniuses!

I’m happy to announce that we’ve added some new features that will make it easier for you to manage your Timeline Genius Rolodex…

First, if you ever want to import a batch of new vendors, venues, or clients, we can do that for you automatically now! All you have to do is send an email to import@timelinegenius.com to request an import. And we’ll help you get your contacts into CSV format and automatically add them to your Rolodex.

Secondly, you now have the ability to easily export all of your contacts as CSV files. Just go to your Timeline Genius Rolodex, click the “Import/Export CSV” button, and then click “Download CSV”… You’ll get a zip file containing separate CSVs for your vendor, venue, and client contacts.

Whether your Timeline Genius Rolodex is empty or full, we hope the new import and export features will help you manage your contacts with greater ease.



PS Don’t forget that you can use the Timeline Genius Rolodex completely for FREE! Even if you never buy a timeline, you can add, edit, and delete contacts as much as you want 😉

New Feature: Download Multiple Timelines at Once

Hello Timeline Geniuses!

In our ceaseless quest to save you more time, we just added a new feature that lets you download multiple timelines at once.

As you know, Timeline Genius automatically creates tailored timelines for your vendors, venues, and wedding party, which you can download in PDF or Word format. With our new feature, you don’t have to download these tailored timelines one by one. You can instantly download as many as you want and get them in a zip file.

As part of this new feature, we also improved the filenames for your timeline downloads by making them more descriptive.

As with every other feature we’ve developed, this new multi-timeline download feature is designed to save you time and to make it easier for you to keep creating awesome timelines.

Hair and Makeup Schedules Are Magically Done Now ;)


Dear Timeline Geniuses, this just in…

You no longer have to struggle with creating hair and makeup schedules because we’ve automated all that tedious work for you!

Timeline Genius now lets you enter a few basic inputs and then it auto-magically creates your hair and makeup tables such that:

  • No girl is double booked for hair and makeup
  • All hair and makeup appointments have the appropriate durations
  • When possible, each girl gets hair done before makeup
  • The bride gets the latest possible slots for hair and makeup (with her hair coming before makeup)

Finally, after doing all this, Timeline Genius adjusts your other timeline items to be harmonious with the timing of your hair and makeup schedules.

So basically, you wave a magic wand, and hair and makeup tables appear 🙂

Our Unique Approach to Instagram


At Timeline Genius, we decided to take a unique approach to our Instagram page. Instead of just posting photos of various events or of our software, we decided to fill our whole profile page with quotes about two things: inspiration and love.


Inspiration is one of our focuses because we’re deeply inspired by you (the planners we work with), and we hope to inspire you in return. I’ve been a full-time entrepreneur since 2005, and I know the courage it takes to build your own company and to follow your dreams. Every week I have the privilege of speaking with extraordinary wedding planners around the United States and abroad, and you constantly inspire me.


Some of you have already built thriving, long-standing planning companies. And some of you are in the early stages of building your companies. But you all share a determination to succeed and a passion for your work, which is awesome.

On our Instagram page, we want to post quotes that will give you a boost and lift your spirits as you continue on your journey. For example, the above quote that I copied from our Instagram page is one of my personal favorites from Dr. Martin Luther King.

When you’re starting a company, or almost any long, meaningful journey, it can take courage and faith to take the first step… because there’s nobody there to tell you exactly how it’s going to play out. You have to trust yourself and keep the fear of failure at bay. It’s always inspired me to hear those words from Dr. King — a man who led a movement that forever changed our country and the world for the better.


The second topic we focus on with our Instagram page is love. Why? Because love is everything and because it’s certainly the very core and bedrock of our whole industry.


Once you strip away all the logistics, financial exchanges, contracts, and other fleetingly consequential facets of the wedding industry, what you’re left with is the real reason why the industry exists in the first place — to celebrate love.

I still remember what I felt like when I was exchanging vows with my wife in front of every person I loved in the world… It was a transcendental experience… This invisible, yet palpable energy, was filling the whole room, like a deeply soothing, radiant light. All of our family and friends felt it… And I’ve felt it when I’ve attended the weddings of my friends. It gets me every time because it’s magical…

We celebrate love on our Instagram page because all of our work, and our industry as a whole, is aimed at celebrating love.

Handle Bridal Party Transportation Like a Genius

Well Timeline Geniuses, I’ve got some good news for you… 😉

We just made another improvement to our Genius Feature so that it now automatically adjusts your timeline based on whether or not you have bridal party transportation. Woo-Hoo!

As we all know, transportation is one of those things that can get messy on a wedding timeline — with limos going here and there and shuttles taking guests from point A to point B…. Our aim is to help you cut through that mess.

When you’re creating a new timeline on Timeline Genius, you now have the opportunity to enter a vendor for bridal party transportation, if applicable.

And when you make this entry, our Genius Feature will automatically create the timeline items that address the girls and guys traveling to and fro in their limousine. The Genius Feature will also place all of these items at times in the day that fit logically within the flow of your timeline.

On the other hand, if you don’t have bridal party transportation, the Genius Feature will know to exclude all of these items from your timeline.

Our ultimate objective is to save you time and to make your life easier.

The less time you spending toiling over transportation logistics, the more time you can spend doing other things to grow your business!
