[New Feature] Customize Your Page Margins

We’re on a roll, and I’m excited to share another new feature with you… 🙂

As of now, you can customize the page margins for your timelines!

Over the years, one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that each of you has your own special way of doing timelines… And that means you may want to show more or less content on each page.

Maybe you like to show more content per page, so your timelines will have fewer pages overall. Or maybe you just want to maximize horizontal space to be able to show a larger floor plan image.

Whatever the case, now you can set your top, bottom, left, and right margins just the way you want them.

To see a quick tutorial on customizing your margins, just check out the video below.

Enjoy your new customizable page margins, and be on the lookout for more awesome improvements over the next few days!

[New Feature] Introducing Hyperlinks

As of now, you can easily insert hyperlinks in your timelines!

So let’s say you need to reference a specific list of songs in a timeline item… Now you can link directly to a playlist on Spotify or YouTube.

Or maybe you wanna make it easy for people to get directions to one of the venues in your timeline… No sweat, just insert a link for the venue address on Google Maps.

And the cool thing is, not only will your hyperlinks work online, they’ll also be embedded in your timeline PDFs. So you can click or tap on hyperlinked PDF text and go straight to the desired web destination.

To see a quick tutorial on the new hyperlink feature, just check out the video below.

We hope this new hyperlink feature lets you add even more flair and professionalism to your timelines.

Be on the lookout for more awesome improvements over the next few days!

[New Feature] Make Grid Lines on Your Timeline

Get ready for a series of new feature updates over the next couple weeks because we’ve been busy improving the site for you!

Today, I want to announce a new feature that lets you show (or hide) grid lines on your timelines! (We added the new grid line option as a setting in your Preferences section.)

Over the years, we’ve gotten a number of requests for this feature… Some of you used to create your timelines in Excel or Google Sheets (before you discovered the magic of Timeline Genius :D). So if you find yourself missing grid lines on your timelines, you can add them back now.

To see a quick tutorial on the new grid lines feature, just check out the video below.

This new feature is just another way that Timeline Genius lets you express your own unique style, creativity, and professionalism.

So if grid lines are your thang, enjoy! And keep on shinin’ like the rock star you are 🙂

How to Collaborate on Your Wedding Day Timelines With Vendors, Team Members, and Clients

Wedding Day Timelines Are a Team Effort

As a professional planner, you’re well-aware that creating and executing a thorough wedding day timeline is never just a one-person job. Weddings are complex events that involve multiple parties – from venues and vendors, to the wedding party and event guests. You know that before you can finalize your wedding day timelines, you need to incorporate input from all of these parties. Getting feedback from relevant people helps you ensure that everybody is on the same page, so the big day goes off without a hitch.

But you may be thinking… collaborating on wedding day timelines is easier said than done. Having interviewed hundreds of experienced wedding planners over the last six years, I know this to be true. So I ask you to consider two important questions: First, what makes collaborating on wedding day timelines so challenging, even for seasoned planners? And second, is there a way to do it better, faster, and more easily? (Hint: Keep reading, and you’ll find there is.) How to Create Your Wedding Day Timelines Like a Genius

Wedding Day Timelines Matter

Whether you’ve planned one wedding or a hundred, you surely know how important it is to create detailed timelines for your events. Weddings are complex – they have a lot of moving pieces and a whole host of different players involved. With a thorough wedding day timeline, you and your vendors have a shared game plan, so you can work together in harmony to pull off a beautiful event. On the other hand, if you don’t have a thorough timeline, you run the risk of delays, miscommunications, and unanticipated issues happening on the wedding day.
